Karin Yapalater is a modern day Renaissance woman - a Jane of many trades, all interconnected - holistic health counselor, author, producer, proud wife and mother of two young teenagers. As a holistic health counselor she empowers others to live optimal, balanced lives - nutritionally, spiritually and professionally; as a published writer she is at work on two new books, one concerning wellness for adolescents, and the other, her second mystery novel. As a producer, she is currently developing a mini series for the Emmy award winning PBS show - In the Mix, a weekly reality series for teens, entitled SOSOS, Save our Stressed Out Students ... the MInd\Body Connection. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Susan Lawrence entered Barnard College at the age of 14 to escape a troubled family. She was inspired and mentored by Christiaan Barnard, the South African surgeon who performed the world’s first human heart transplant. Susan entered Baylor College of Medicine at 18. A rotation in medical oncology drew her to work with the terminally ill. She became a board certified internist and medical oncologist and opened her practice of medical oncology in Lancaster, CA, in 1985. |

Carolyn Toben is founder and Board Chair of the Center for Education, Imagination and the Natural World in the foothills of North Carolina. She has taught in Greensboro public and private schools and colleges with an emphasis on alternative and interdisciplinary education. Carolyn served for 18 years as a seminar leader at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching in Cullowhee and at the Center for the Advancement for Renewal in Education in San Francisco.
