Lorraine Simone, M.S. Ed.,C.Ht.
Founder & Director of Moonfire Meeting House, and Women’s Ways TM Mystery School
Lorraine Simone, M.S. Ed. in Environmental Science, is a well known speaker, inspired visionary and beloved teacher who effectively bridges the gap between the mystery of living a spiritual life and its quantum perspective, and the nitty-gritty of Western thinking and it’s pragmatic perception. She’s a New York City and State licensed teacher, a member of the International Association of Counselors & Therapists, as well as the Guild of Wholistic Practitioners.
As founder and director of Moonfire Meeting House and Women’s Ways Mystery School (located on New York’s Eastern Long Island), Simone teaches and shares her vision for the evolution of personal and planetary consciousness through re-membering Oneness and our communion with the Earth. Her inspirational CDs and forthcoming book reflect her tireless pursuit to bring the vision and compassion of the Sacred Feminine to all people. Lorraine Simone’s accomplishments include: • Was a delegate at the 52nd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, in February 2008. The commission is dedicated to eradicating gender bias and promoting the advancement of women and the girl child. • Created Women’s WaysTM Mystery School in 1995 celebrating Rites of Passage to empower women and girls to heal their lives and change the world, through experiences in Deep Ecology, the Healing Arts, Women’s Mysteries, Creation Spirituality, Ceremony, Ritual and Shamanic Practices. • Teaches workshops, classes, and seminars and leads retreats that bring to life her expertise in Compassion-in-Communication, Goddess Myths, and Vibrational Medicine. • Apprenticed for over two decades to Oh Shinnah Fast Wolf, a renowned Apache- Mohawk teacher, who, in her native tradition, dreamed a spirit name for Simone: Deep Arrow Woman. In her current work, Deep Arrow Woman initiates her own apprentices who make up the backbone of Moonfire’s Deep Arrow Lodge. • Created “Planet Earth,” in 1985, a New York City retail store that featured products of science, ecology, consciousness raising, practical spirituality, fun and the environment. • Keeps alive the sacred ways and ceremonies, that native elders and teachers from many traditions have given her, and co-leads groups of people on an annual quest for transformation called the Journey of the Waters. • Featured on numerous TV and radio shows, and in magazines and newspapers, including Newsweek, New York Magazine, and The New York Times. • Maintains a spiritual counseling practice in Southampton and Manhattan, NY, and facilitates and coordinates “A Circle of Women” throughout the North East.
