Herbal Medicine with Gayle Engels and the American Botanical Council
Gayle Engels has always been intrigued by the vegetative world, beginning as early as age 5. Hailing from a long line of gardeners, she went on to earn her degree in secondary education from the University of Texas in the early 1990s. Gayle then joined the American Botanical Council where she currently coordinates the organization’s education and community relations efforts.
She supervises the healthcare internship program and the development of the resource center and medicinal theme gardens. She gives presentations for educational groups and plant-oriented organizations, including tours of ABC’s gardens, demonstrations, study groups, and lectures on various aspects of herbs and plant-based medicine. Gayle has an extensive background in magazine circulation, gardening, and landscape & nursery work. She is currently a Member-at-Large of the South Central District of the Herb Society of America; and the program chair and newsletter editor of the Austin Herb Society. |
