Behold Nature through the Inner Life of the Child, with Carolyn Toben
Carolyn Toben is founder and Board Chair of the Center for Education, Imagination and the Natural World in the foothills of North Carolina. She has taught in Greensboro public and private schools and colleges with an emphasis on alternative and interdisciplinary education. Carolyn served for 18 years as a seminar leader at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching in Cullowhee and at the Center for the Advancement for Renewal in Education in San Francisco. Her article, "Teacher Renewal: Pilgrims and Passages" was published in the Holistic Education Review.
Carolyn has pursued post-graduate studies at The Jung Institute in Switzerland, The Institute of Creation Centered Spirituality in Chicago, The Guild for Psychological Studies in San Francisco and the School of Spiritual Psychology. Her beautiful devotion towards the healing of society's disconnection from the natural world led Carolyn, her family, and trusted friends to create Timberlake Farm, Inc., a nonprofit organization. “I want Timberlake Farm to be an earth sanctuary and learning community dedicated to affirming and renewing the human-earth relationship,” Carolyn explained.
