Karin Yapalater
Check out In The Mix on PBS!
Karin Yapalater is a modern day Renaissance woman -  a Jane of many trades, all interconnected - holistic health counselor, author, producer, proud wife and mother of two young teenagers.    As a holistic health counselor she empowers others to live optimal, balanced lives - nutritionally, spiritually and professionally;  as a published writer she is at work on two new books, one concerning wellness for adolescents, and the other, her second mystery novel.  As a producer, she is currently developing a mini series for the  Emmy award winning PBS show - In the Mix, a weekly reality  series for teens, entitled SOSOS, Save our Stressed Out Students ... the MInd\Body Connection.  As a wife and mother, the job she considers her most rewarding and significant, she has this to say:  "My family has taught me everything I need to know about living a balanced life!"

How does she do it all?  "Every day I try to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.   I try to live by the four agreements - never take anything personally, make no assumptions, do the best you can and be impeccable in word and deed.  It's about satsang - good company, good works and good living - balance and focus coupled with clear intentions and the wonder of synchronicity."

A critically acclaimed author and producer, Yapalater is a  graduate of New York University’s School of Journalism and Columbia University’s Graduate Writing Program.  She has worked as an educator  and fundraiser in Asia, Europe and the U.S.  She and her  husband Greg, a New York based pediatrician, are the founders of Good Company New York, a non profit organization that educates and supports students interested in becoming involved hands-on with local and global philanthropic endeavors.  "We partner with organizations and corporations that mentor youth and teach them about the power they each have to help themselves and others."

Ms. Yapalater is an avid horsewoman who practices natural horsemanship.  She lives in New York City and Bridgehampton.

Reviews:

“In her impressive debut, Karin Yapalater delivers a skillful mix of murder,
sex, and psychosis. Two detectives investigating a pair of ghastly murders
in Central Park discover they are personally connected to the victims, a
prominent New York psychiatrist and the lesbian cop's ex-lover. Meanwhile,
an ambitious assistant D.A. would love to settle an old score by making the
link. Yapalater gives that well-worn cop-under-suspicion plot a fresh set of
prints, thanks to insightful prose about psychiatric dysfunction as well
as whip-smart police dialogue. An Hour to Kill is a provocative couch trip
in which those rascals Freud and Jung are as suspect as the perps.”
- Entertainment Weekly

“If you love thrillers, spend a couple of hours with AN HOUR TO KILL.
This is a psychological thriller that really thrills. It's savvy, it's sexy,
and best of all, true to life.”
— James Patterson
best selling author, ‘The Jester’
